RP Anniversary: Popuri

Last one for June!!

Sketched on paper, flat color in SAI. Next picture in a series I'm doing, drawing the kids from mine and Gem's RP a year to the day they were first used, got it? Good!

I say first used. This will be the case MOST of the time. There are a few instances where the kids are born and it's stated they're born, but for one reason or another they aren't used until a later day. If that happens I'll be posting them on the day they are BORN. If they're used the first time on a different day then I'll state that in the description, or on the picture itself.

Bio time!!

Popuri is...ah let me count lol Deannalee's seventh child, and her second with Akeme Yang, and their first daughter, biological anyway, since Akeme has taken in all of Dee's children as his own.

Still, there's something special about the first little girl they both have together.  He adores Jade, Cassie, and Loralai.  But there's still something special about him meeting his baby girl the first time.  He remarks about how she's like a mini of her mother, and even sheds a tear or two.  He cradles her and holds her close for a good while, and all Deannalee can do is smile.

There's four girls that look like her now...and yet Akeme teases her about a girl looking more like him.  She's got a baby coming soon maybe that'll be the one XP

Popuri's a sweet little girl.  Cassie adores both her and Loralai, being the oldest sister that still alive, since Jade has long since passed on.  Popuri's the baby of the family for awhile, and it really shows. She's very much her daddy's princess.  Like all the women in Deannalee's heritage, the bonds between mothers, daughters, and pretty much all women in a family are very close, and the holds up here as well.

In looks, again, Popuri takes a great deal after Deannalee.  Her eye color comes from Akeme, and obviously the purple and dark purple and overall look comes from Deannalee.  Like some of the other echidna girls her heritage affects her style of dress as well; she dresses similar to the way Ryou does, for example.

Her hair is slightly reminiscent of Niena, who, is in a way Akeme's mother.  Back when Kyosho created Akeme this was long way before he ever knew Medula, but after Niena had been gone for awhile.  Even so the hairstyle is a small nod to that, and how they're all family, which I think is sweet.

Personality wise again Popuri is a sweet girl, but gets Deannalee's spunk as all the girls have.  Like Cassie however she leans a bit more towards the calm and sweet side that she gets from her father.  Her element, going in order, is earth, just like Cassie, and her aunt Emmikai, and her grandmother Casselina.  Since the girls have birthdays so close together, Popuri and Emmikai like to celebrate them together.

Also, her name, Popuri, means Starfruit, in Deannalee's language.  This is a nod to her mother, who practically lives off starfruit whenever she's having a baby, since it helps quell her sicknesses.  Plus it was some special for her and Akeme to bond over, and was just always her favorite fruit in general, reminding her of happier times from her childhood back on Spirit Island.
