RP Anniversary: Kavita and Zaliya

Next up for August!!

Sketched on paper, flat color in SAI. Next picture in a series I'm doing, drawing the kids from mine and Gem's RP a year to the day they were first used, got it? Good!

I say first used. This will be the case MOST of the time. There are a few instances where the kids are born and it's stated that they're born, but for one reason or another they aren't used until a later day. If that happens I'll be posting them on the day that they are BORN. If they're used the first time on a different day then I'll state that in the description, or on the picture itself.

To explain; Kavita was first used in RP 1174 which corresponds to August 22nd of 2014, however it wasn't until after Midnight, so it was technically August 23rd.  We ran out of time shortly after, which worked out perfectly because we could just put them both down for August 23rd.  That's why you're getting them both today XP But yes RP 1175 is the one that corresponds to August 23rd of 2014 but since Kavita wasn't used until after Midnight they're both technically first used on the 23rd XP

But wow, have we come a long way from Percy and Sierra XD I said a couple of times that the twin chain was actually going in reverse.  Amadi's split gave her twins, which gave Athena twins, which gave Niena and Medula twins, which gave Agatha twins, which gave Persephone twins.  So now we've come full circle.

You've heard about the split for awhile now.  This split happens when Zero is awakened from his nightmare, which was essentially deep seeded corruption in the form of an ever present and waking nightmare...which interestingly is one reason Medula, being the Guardian of Dreams, was killed so quickly.  Their children, Amida and Xero go with him when he's cast out of hell.  Hades stays with his mother, and it's revealed she's pregnant in the weeks after Zero's departure.

But...absence makes the heart grow fonder.  Even as Zero proves his remorse and new loyalty to his brother and those above, getting his element back and going back to the good person he was before, his heart never stops loving Amadi in some way...the nice gentle side only he saw.  Amadi's not the only one going through this.  Her original attachment to Zero that caused her to put him under the nightmare to begin with hasn't faded, and it's this desire to be with her fighting against her position as the devil that causes something deep inside of her to fray, and in a dramatic happening, she splits into two, Devil Amadi, and the pure Amadi that loved Zero and continues to, one that is almost naive and the complete antithesis of the devil half.

Of course, when this split happens, she's pregnant, and both halves remain so, both carrying a girl.  This is what causes twins in all of the other mothers.

While Amadi is above living with Zero and Amida and Xero, they feel incomplete without the firstborn son, Hades.  Repeated attempts to reach him fail and Zero particularly mourns it, but then something happens.  Much like what happened to his mother, Hades too splits into a devil half and the good half that loves his family and wants to be with them, and so the family was reunited.  Though he tries to cause trouble, Devil Hades eventually dies, leaving Devil Amadi and this new baby alone.

However, Zero's not willing to leave the baby girl in hell to become the next devil.  When Kavita is born, Devil Amadi "dies" for what appears to be the end of her.  She says that this means Kavita's inherited the devil's crown, but while Urlumin and Amlodi are left shocked, a group led by Zardaz break in and take Kavita away.

To balance this...Devil Amadi, like any proper phoenix, simply rises again after a short time.  This is because balance has to be preserved.

While this happens, the "good" Amadi has Zaliya.  She's small and a tiny bit weaker, but otherwise is healthy, and both sisters are together.

Since then, Devil Amadi's not really found anyone to replace Zero to try again for a new heir.  She had one attempt with "Someone" Gem knows who I mean lol but nothing's happened yet.  It just means Athena won't be having anymore since Kephalos and Amadi are tied together.  It's what cause the twin chain in the first place XP

Anyway, appearance wise they both take heavily after their mother.  The reddish fur, the phoenix tails, the orange and yellow in their hair, all come from Amadi. The lack of ears could come from either parent, and the two shades of red eyes come from either Amadi or Zero.  Kavita, on the left, has Amadi's eye shade, while Zaliya got Zero's red shade.  The girls have a little from their father however. The gray hair, Kavita's fringe, and Zaliya's hair style going down her back come from their father.  The outfits are inspired by Amadi; the light colored shirts and the dark colored skirts representing the split between light and dark, good and evil versions of their mother.  The brown sleeves have the markings on them similar to the kind Amadi wears, and the boots are the same shade.

A note here: I sketched them wearing scarves like Zero has, but forgot to do the lineart of them.  They do wear scarves though and they're the same color as the boots.

Personality wise they're sweet and happy girls not affected by the devil's sway, though like with Amida they feared Kavita would at first.  Though not demonic Kavita's definitely the more sassy of the two but with that soft, almost quiet side Zero has, where he'll sit quietly and just watch and listen to the world around him.  Zaliya's a bit more out-spoken but sweet, and slightly naive about things like Amadi's good half is, and she's also a sucker for romance, like Amadi was back when she was still one person, and fell in love with Zero from afar.
