RP Anniversary: Cresta

Next up for April!!

Sketched on paper, flat color in SAI. Next picture in a series I'm doing, drawing the kids from mine and Gem's RP a year to the day they were first used, got it? Good!

I say first used. This will be the case MOST of the time. There are a few instances where the kids are born and it's stated that they're born, but for one reason or another they aren't used until a later day. If that happens I'll be posting them on the day that they are BORN. If they're used the first time on a different day then I'll state that in the description, or on the picture itself.

Cresta was first used when she was a day old, so the First used RP number corresponds with the 17th, rather than the 16th

Back when we were profiling Jewel I mentioned she had an adopted little sister name Cresta. Well here she is. There's not a big age difference between them, but they've got similar stories.

Shortly after Zeus and Moon start to grow close after taking in baby Jewel, Amadi comes and clones Zeus, creating a powerful wind dragon named Ouroboros, to take away the advantage they had in Zeus. This hurts and frustrates Zeus to no end, and he pushes himself perhaps harder than he should in order to be stronger, discouraged in the beginning as he is reminded of his inability to save Faeore and their unborn child. With Alduin's help though down in the beginning he improves, learning how to fight better not only with the wind but without it.

It's shortly after this first shocking lesson that little Cresta is discovered. Her back is broken and she is only a day old when they find her. It turns out she's a full-blooded dragon, something Amadi is now capable of producing with both Amlodi, the Sin of Greed from the Sin Sisters group of Guardians, and Zeus's clone, Ouroboros. This fuels a new spout of anger fresh off him being easily tossed aside by Alduin earlier that day, as Zeus knows it's only because he was cloned that Amadi now has access to full-blooded dragons for her growing army.

But anger is extinguished by a heart wanting to extend care, and Zeus calms himself. Moon names the baby girl Cresta, and so the pair adopt her, nursing her back to health. Obviously by the picture we can see Cresta does eventually walk, and it's a long process, since her back is broken almost from the beginning. It's feared she never would, but she is strong and pulls through. The twins, Julianos and Mara, are Zeus and Moonrise's blood children, but Jewel and Cresta have a special place in both their hearts.

While Jewel comes from Errikos while he is still insane, and one of Amadi's servants, Cresta is the daughter of Ouroboros and Amlodi. Amadi wanted Amlodi to breed with Ouroboros, but Amlodi rejects this, still having feelings from Urlumin that he doesn't return for a long while. Sadly enough when Amlodi returns after having abandoned Cresta like she did, this earns Urlumin's respect, and the two become a couple after that, leading the way for their son Ulfric, and later their daughter Nao. ...yes, daughter, not only is Urlumin accepting a woman, but he's also accepting a daughter. This is after the way he was raised to hate women, and how he treated Upendo's mother even after she died to save him. Amlodi's abandoning Cresta and breaking her back is what changes Urlumin, impressed that any woman, a mother especially, could do such a thing to their own child. So, Cresta paves the way for that relationship via her tragic first few days.

Ouroboros, on the other hand, is very sensitive about Cresta. He's much more wild and animalistic than Zeus, and many times he rages about, wanting to get her back, lashing out at Amlodi for abandoning her and causing so much mayhem that Amadi eventually has him shot, a bullet being a terrible death sentence for a Guardian, infecting them and making them go mad until they expire, before sending him out of hell to endure his last moments. Zeus and Alduin kill him, putting him out of his misery, giving him a respectful burial. By now, Zeus has grown much stronger, and has come to feel sympathy for Ouroboros, even empathy at wanting to see a child that he never met, that child being the one he and Faeore never got to meet. His want for revenge is more towards Amadi and Amlodi, not only for what they did to Jewel and Cresta, but now Ouroboros as well.

Being the daughter of Zeus's clone Cresta looks a great deal like him, since Ouroboros was an exact copy of him. The rest of her traits, being a wingless dragon and the fuchsia hair all come from Amlodi, as well as the horns. Like her sister she is sweet, and loves to have fun. She's a tough girl like Jewel too, both of them coming back from very difficult starts to their lives, but fortunate enough to have a very nurturing family and home to help them heal.

More practice drawing dragons! I've reasoned that the reason the other children that are part dragon don't look like this is because they are hybrids. Of course I'll have to redraw Midas at some point since I'm already redoing Faeore lol Cresta's the first full-blooded dragon kid, but she won't be the last!

Alright, that wraps it up for Cresta! I'll see you in about a week for another bonus child, UnDark and Ophelia's daughter, Claudia. She's a bonus because she's another of those pre-RP children but she fits in with the theme of this series so, look out for that! =3
