Another practice piece for me XD I swear these two are great for practice I think because I can draw them both without a reference. I practiced quite a few things in this picture.
First off was the posing. I had the idea in my mind and I drew the entire thing WITHOUT a reference. I had to fix Luke's arm, and Gem helped me with changing Leslie's because no matter what I tried I couldn't get hers to look right. I'm VERY happy with how the posing came out. For not using a reference at all I'm quite proud.
Coloring and shading them was simple; no different than before. Gem did teach me a bit about adding the stray hairs; she added most of them but I added a couple. The big thing was the background.
I wasn't sure what I was going for at first, then I decided on them sitting on a tiny sandbar surrounded by water. As usual it's a night sky with a full moon full of stars. The purple bits are meant to be clouds. I almost took them out but I kinda like how they look. Also I added sea spray and fire flies. It MIGHT make the picture too busy but I tried it with and without them and it looked too empty without both of them. I also tried with just the fire flies or just the sea spray but again it just looked better with both.
I gotta say, the water is BEAUTIFUL. I used a texture for the water, and also used the star brush to get the glitter. The reflection caused by the moon was an experiment, but I love how it came out. I even added a tiny bit of brown to Luke's leg and down there to show sand stuck to the fur. I added the two hearts drawn in the sand to finish it off.
But yeah, I love the picture. I can't believe I made something this gorgeous! XD The title is just something these two say to each other in my AU. Forever, Always.
Don't worry I DO draw other characters XD I just think these two are done the most since I don't need references for them. They make excellent practice! Just a little side couple but ah well XP
Luke Bertier and Leslie Paylor belong to me.
